Fall 2013 Drawing Class Taught by Elizabeth Hundt Scott (Liz Scott)
Working from interesting still life set-ups, practice free-hand drawing with pencil and charcoal to gain skill and confidence. Each class will begin with a series of exercises, including gesture drawing, contour line drawing, value, positive and negative shapes, and composition. This class will help you loosen up and become brave enough to draw anything! All levels welcome!
All materials will be provided, just bring yourself!

Drawing Class taught by Elizabeth Hundt Scott (Liz Scott), Fall 2013
For beginners to experienced artists.
Working from still life set ups and natural objects, develop your observation skills and gain confidence in free-hand drawing through a series of exercises including gesture drawing and contour line drawing. Learn to see and use positive and negative shapes and control value to create interesting compositions. This class is more about the process than the product.
No. 2 pencils (Optional: graphite pencils: HB, 3B, 6B)
Pencil sharpener: battery powered or metal or plastic hand sharpener
Drawing paper: pad of 18” x 24” white drawing paper, such as Strathmore, or Canson.
Portable standing easel
Dates: 5 Sessions, Mondays 9/30, 10/7, 10/21, 10/28, and 11/4

|Studio Painting - Jack Broderick
Studio Painting is an oil painting course intended for students of all levels, from beginners to those who are proficient and wish to further their painting skills. Students will be given individual attention with paintings of their choosing. Still lifes will be set up for those wishing to paint from life.
Each class will begin with a short discussion of topics such as composition, style, color theory, light and finish. The major part of each class will be given to each student to work on their individual paintings, with critique as needed. Beginning students SHOULD NOT BUY materials until after the first class.
This is a 6 week course; Sat 9am to 12noon; September 28 to November 2.
Classes will be held in my studio at the Mill Works, 156 River Road (rte 32), Willington, CT.
